RYDEX / THE FINE PRINT
Terms of Use
The deal between you and us — what you can post, what gets you ejected, and what we owe you in return.
Accepting these terms
By creating an account or signing in to Rydex you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, do not sign in — there is nothing else you need to do. This agreement is between you and the operator named in our legal notice; it is not with Apple or Google.
Who can use Rydex
You must be at least 13 years old, and at least 16 if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in to yourself.
No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users
This is the part that matters most. Rydex has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive behaviour towards other drivers. Post it and it comes down; post it and you can expect to lose your account, without warning and without a refund.
Specifically, do not post, upload, share or send any of the following:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, or abuse aimed at another person — in comments, names, crew names, notes, or anywhere else text appears.
- Hate speech or content that attacks or demeans people over race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
- Nudity, pornography or sexually explicit material, and absolutely nothing that sexualises a minor.
- Graphic violence, gore, or anything that encourages self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.
- Content promoting illegal or dangerous driving — street racing on public roads, evading police, or modifications you are urging others to make in breach of their local law.
- Illegal content of any kind, or content promoting the sale of drugs, weapons or stolen goods.
- Spam, scams, phishing, deceptive links, or bulk unsolicited messaging.
- Impersonating another person, a brand, or a member of Rydex staff.
- Someone else’s personal information — their address, plate, phone number or workplace — posted without their consent.
- Content you have no right to post, including photographs and artwork belonging to someone else.
Rydex is a car-spotting app, so a lot of what you photograph happens in public. Use judgement: keep bystanders, children, plates and house numbers out of frame where you reasonably can, and never post a photo of a person who has asked you not to.
Reporting and enforcement
Every photo, comment, profile and crew in the app carries a report action. If you see something that breaks the rules above, use it — it takes one tap and the report reaches us directly.
We review every report within 24 hours. Content that breaks these terms is removed and the account behind it is ejected. Reported content is hidden from you the moment you report it, so you do not have to look at it while we work. We may also remove content or suspend accounts on our own initiative, and we may keep a record of a removal after the fact.
You can also block any driver. Blocking removes their cars, comments and activity from everything you see, instantly, and stops them interacting with you. It also tells us there was something worth looking at.
Your content stays yours
The photos you upload and the words you write remain yours. To run the app we need permission to use them: you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, adapt and display your content for the purpose of operating Rydex — rendering your builds, showing your garage to the drivers you have shared it with, and appearing on leaderboards. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep to comply with the law or to enforce these terms.
We do not sell your content and we do not use your photos to train image models.
AI-generated previews
Every render, poster, mesh and narration in Rydex is generated by an AI model. They are styling concepts and nothing more. A preview does not confirm fitment, offset, width, clearance, structural safety or road-legality, and it is not a photograph of a real installation. Check anything you intend to actually bolt to a car with your supplier or a qualified mechanic.
Subscriptions and credits
Rydex sells an auto-renewing subscription and consumable generation credits. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, so billing, renewal and refunds are governed by your account with them. A subscription renews until you cancel it in the App Store or Play Store; deleting your Rydex account does not cancel it for you. Credits are consumed by generations, have no cash value, and are not refundable once spent.
Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time from the settings screen inside the app — it runs immediately and takes your garage with it. We can suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop operating the service. If we end your account for something you did, you are not entitled to a refund of unused credits or subscription time.
What we do not promise
Rydex is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, that a generation will succeed, or that a render will match what you imagined. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death, personal injury, or fraud.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that affects your rights, the date at the top of this page changes and we flag it in the app. Carrying on using Rydex after that means you accept the new version.
Law and Apple’s part in this
These terms are governed by German law, and the courts at the operator’s seat have jurisdiction — this does not remove any right you have to bring a claim where you live. Where you obtained Rydex from the App Store, Apple is not a party to this agreement, has no obligation to support the app, and is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce these terms against you.
